Chart notes
CHESAPEAKE STORM took the lead at the thirteen sixteenths pole and tapered to the inside to rate the pace, came under pressure past the five sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn at the rail, drifted into the stretch but dug in under steady handling to hold on well. MIDNIGHT REGRET stalked inside on the opening turn, bid leaving the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the turn about the three path, drifted leaving the turn but dug in through the final furlong to take second later yards. DR. CALKINS was bumped leaving the gate and raced in the four path the first turn, left the turn outside, bid toward the three eighths pole, ran in the four path of the far turn and finished well to get up for third the final strides. LADY CINCO DE MAYO stalked off the rail, picked up the chase from the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn off the rail, raced close through the upper stretch but flattened the final sixteenth. SWEET ASHLEY saved ground on the first turn, gave chase from the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn near the rail then flattened in the lane. BELLA BETTINA stumbled outward and into Dr. Calkins leaving the gate then rounded the first turn in the four path, gave chase nearing the three eighths pole, showed little response and ran in the six path of the far turn. GOLDEN GLOW rounded the opening turn in the two and three paths and showed little response through the backstretch. This race was hand timed.
