Chart notes
NINE ONE ONE came in leaving the chute to bump with Forty Smooches, then saved ground setting the pace and drew off to win with something left. MARCH ON LINCH unhurried early, rallied along the inside on the turn and finished well for the place. FORTY SMOOCHES was bumped by the winner leaving the chute and steadied, then settled into stride, angled out to offer a bid entering the stretch but was unable to sustain the rally. ETHAN'S ANIMAL was prominent early from along the outside and tired. HARBOR OUTLAW pressed the pace from along the outside to the stretch and gave way. TIG broke thru the gate during the loading, then was reloaded, showed brief speed from along the outside, stopped and was eased in the late stages. The trainer of Forty Smooches lodged an objection against the winner, but after viewing the films the stewards made no change in the order of finish.
