Chart notes
K. K. ICHIKAWA reserved to the second turn, moved up three wide, came four wide into the stretch, made a steady gain and edged up in the final strides. BRYTON'S D J well placed and outside, saved ground through the second turn, angled out three wide into the stretch, shook clear inside the furlong marker and was outfinished. GOODTIME ARTIE rated inside, saved ground through the turns, came through inside of rivals into the stretch, angled out for clear racing room and closed well for the show. SNAKERATTLEANDROLL unhurried in the early going, looped to a short lead three wide through the second turn, then weakened the final furlong and held a share. RED DUBONNET broke open the gate prestart, ran evenly. GOLDEN OAK set the pace off the rail, angled in to save ground through the second turn, stayed on when challenged, then faded late. NIP OF BOURBON was no factor.
