Chart notes
CRUISIN CUE was unhurried early then rallied on the far turn, was four wide in upper stretch and powered to the front in late stretch to be best in the end. SPIRIT OF SPOATIE was allowed to settled from the pace, rallied on the far turn and was two wide in the stretch, gained the lead in mid stretch but could not last in the end. JUST A IRISH LAD was settled while two wide on the backstretch, rallied on the far turn then was inside and run up on the heels of SWEET BAKER in mid stretch and steadied sharply and nearly unseating the rider then recovered and was a game third in the end. GOSPEL MUSKETEER was allowed to settled while inside on the backstretch, rallied but failed to menace in late stretch. POP'S BISCUIT was allowed to settled then raced three wide on the backstretch, made a bid on the far turn to mid stretch but flattened out in the drive. WILLY SPECIAL CATS was allowed to settled then raced on the inside and failed to menace. SWEET BAKER sprinted to a clear lead on the first turn and down the backstretch, was used up and gave way then had heels clipped in mid stretch by JUST A IRISH LAD and stopped. A stewards inquiry was held concerning the stretch run. A claim of foul was lodged by the rider of JUST A IRISH LAAD against the rider of SPIRIT OF SPOATIE for interference in mid stretch. After reviewing the film's, no action was taken.
