Chart notes
TAPIT TRICE broke a beat slow getting away last, chased six then five wide coming under coaxing three furlongs from home, swung four wide into upper stretch, rallied and had the leader come out in front at the three-sixteenths and the eight pole and altered out slightly in response, latched on and got bumped inside the eighth pole as SLIP MAHONEY came out under a left handed crop, got bumped again a sixteenth from home when head to head as that rival came out under a left handed stick once more, seized narrow command undeterred and gamely prevailed on the wire. SLIP MAHONEY prompted the leader from the outside four then three wide advancing to take command with seven-sixteenths to go, briefly tussled with SUMMER CAUSE before establishing sole command through the latter portion of the turn, spun two to three wide for home, dug in under left handed crop coming outwards at the three-sixteenths and eighth pole, had the aforementioned foe latch on outside and came out twice more under a left handed stick to bump that rival inside the eighth pole and a sixteenth from home, got headed nearing the finish while battling on but was ultimately bested at the end. SUMMER CAUSE coaxed from the gate, raced just off the inside in close aim of the front, tucked inside through the turn and was heads apart for command from the seven-sixteenths to near the five-sixteenths, took the inside route into upper stretch and weakened in the late stages while along for the show honors clear of the rest. MERCANTE chased three to four wide down the backstretch before being tucked inside into the turn, came under coaxing at the three-eighths, swung five wide into upper stretch and weakened. GOOD RAPPORT chased inside briefly before tipping two then three wide down the backstretch, went back inside through the turn coming under coaxing at the three-eighths, angled five wide into upper stretch and tired. MY IMAGINATION stumbled at the break veering inwards when recovering and was corrected, chased four wide under coaxing from the three-eighths, went six wide into upper stretch and tired. WINNING CONNECTION showed the way in hand three then two wide under pressure from a trio and then a pair, yielded with seven-sixteenths to go, retreated through the turn and went seven wide into upper stretch, then folded in the drive. ABSTRACT three wide in pursuit, got coaxed along at the seven-sixteenths, went three to four wide into upper stretch and trailed.
