Chart notes
BOONE'S PATH stalked the pace, assumed command along the inside on the backstretch, responded when challenged on the turn, drew off and held safely under mild urging. MERLOTTI raced close to the pace, challenged for the lead three across on the turn, fell back and held safely for place while no match for the winner. ICE AXE bumped and was crowded at the start, unhurried early and raced in the back, went widest in the drive and offered a mild bid to be along for show. MANEUVER raced mid pack, angled out for the drive, had little left and gave way. EIGHT MAY was sent to the front to set the pace, was headed on the backstretch, came again to challenged between horses on the turn, tired and gave way. PAPA GEEB broke in and bumped at the start, was checked repeatedly on the first turn, raced in the back, was eased and walked off.
