Chart notes
FIRE SWORD vied for the early lead from the inside and drew off to be well clear under steady pressure. BIG LEAGUE BENNY chased the early pace, raced along the inside around the far turn, angled to race from the outside in the drive and got up for the place position while racing from the outside. CANNONBALL COMIN pressed two deep and weakened the final eighth of a mile. CANONIZE raced mid pack early on, raced five wide into the upper stretch, shifted in and raced even late with no closing run. GAINER dropped back off the early going, raced two to three wide in the lane and lacked a bid. BOTANY was off slowly, raced near the inside past the quarter pole and never threatened.
