Chart notes
OLYMPIC LEGEND vied with AMERICAN GRIT for the early lead, disposed of that one after a quarter mile and gradually increased his advantage. THE CALABRESE KID was unhurried early, rallied five-wide into the stretch and closed strongly. MIRROR IMAGE was reserved off the early pace, came four-wide into the stretch and finished in a mild rally. CROOKED FINGER RAY was allowed to settle early, came two-wide into the stretch to offer a mild bid and then flattened out during the drive. WESTERN RULE was forwardly place while racing three-wide but lacked a rally. AMERICAN GRIT vied for the lead from along the outside for a quarter mile and gave way.
