Chart notes
IMPULSIVENESS was unhurried and soon far back from the rest, picked up his pace some when encouraged on the backstretch, surged after a half mile, closed the gap along the rail on the second bend, angled outside IZEONDEC at the top of the lane, took the advantage inside the final eighth and gradually edged ahead under a well-judged ride. IZEONDEC gradually progressed from path three on the backstretch, took the lead just outside RABBIT HOUND on the second turn, moved clear leaving that bend but did not have enough left inside the last furlong. RABBIT HOUND was hustled to vie for the lead outside DRAGGING MAIN, moved ahead nearing the end of a half mile, was overtaken from outside midway on the second bend, ran evenly through the stretch and proved easily best of the others. PAYNT BY LETTERS progressed widest to have a striking position three wide on the second turn, did not keep up leaving that bend, angled in upper stretch and continued to fade. DRAGGING MAIN was sent to contest the pace from inside but began to yield before finishing a half mile.
