Chart notes
MIGHTY SEA stalked on the rail in the third flight down the backside, had nowhere to go when stuck behind horses with five sixteenths to run, continued to look for running room at the top of the stretch inside, finally found a seam in the two path at the furlong pole, quickly burst between runners and closed with a flurry to get the win on the last jump. MORE THAN FIVE settled in the third flight stalking on the outside, started to rally, getting the jump on the winner three wide in midturn, loomed in the four path turning for home, seized control outside at the eighth pole and ran on the finish but just lost the nod at the wire. HUNGRY WOLF was void of speed trailing the field in the early going, made little progress throughout the turn, swung out widest in the five path at the top of the lane, found his best stride to the wire and closed well to be a clear third at the finish line. CLASSIC DANCER had a good position on the fence watching the engaging duo at the half, crept closer to the leaders running on the turn, shifted out to be in the mix three wide turning for home but was outfinished down the lane and settled on the fringes in the end. SOCIETY'S THUNDER had his head narrowly in front running down the backside, battled inside for the top spot around the bend, fought on gamely on the fence in upper stretch, could not find more late and retreated in deep stretch. UNCAPTURED MOMENT broke out at the start, was under right handed encouragement to keep straight and get involved down the backstretch, tracked the contesting pair at the half, was hard ridden between foes at the quarter pole, could not match strides with rivals and weakened between runners in mid-stretch. FIELD HOCKEY prompted the pace outside down the backstretch, dueled outside for the front throughout the turn, arguably had a slim advantage between foes at the top of the lane and emptied out between horses backing through the field at the furlong marker.
