Chart notes
FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL set up shop just off the leaders while saving ground under nice rating, eased out three wide past the five sixteenths, moved up between rivals into the lane, gained a slim advantage outside runners with a furlong to go, edged away slightly past the sixteenth marker, kept on tenaciously under strong handling and narrowly prevailed. STAR SHOPPING was acting up as the gates sprung, broke slowly then regrouped and took to rating towards the inside, gained between runners approaching the quarter pole, continued progress behind rivals in mid stretch, altered out, made a valiant surge but came up just short. PRINCE OF CAPS rated back from between foes early, dropped in and settled in the clear near the five eighths, gained towards the rail into the lane, eased out to advance between runners near the sixteenth pole, shifted in and kept on with good courage. NEW YORK PANTHER stumbled at the break, quickly recovered and edged up to attend the pace outside PRIDE OF PAYTON, moved to apply serious pressure nearing the lane, dueled between runners leaving mid stretch then gave way grudgingly through the final yards. HOMETOWN HERO , sluggish from the gate, was sent up four wide outside rivals early on, stalked three to four wide through the backstretch run, ranged up four wide into the lane, gave hard chase from there, switched to his correct lead late and churned though outkicked. PRIDE OF PAYTON cleared early without much asking, set the pace towards the rail, was joined approaching the stretch, battled inside runners past mid stretch then weakened late. JOE BRAINS drifted in at the break, steadied nearing the first turn, raced three wide with pursuit in upper stretch but lacked a solid finish. BODE LYNX saved ground off the pace, remained inside around the final turn and lacked a strong run. INVECTIVE saved ground and faded. HONOR MY WORLD failed to menace. RIPKEN , forced in some after the break, lagged off the pace, shifted in approaching the lane but failed to muster up a rally. DREAM OF BLESSINGS , three to four wide while forwardly placed, failed to kick on under pressure in upper stretch and retreated.
