Chart notes

EKATI'S VERVE , patiently rated behind horses around the turn, found room along the inner rail through the stretch, closed determinedly and was up approaching the finish. VELVET GHOST broke alertly, set the pace in the two path around the turn, remained off the rail through the stretch and gave way grudgingly. REMEMBERING WILBUR , up close down the backstretch, swung four wide leaving the turn, remained on his left lead and rallied mildly. OXIDE , four deep leaving the turn, loomed outside horses in mid stretch and flattened out. SPITBALL saved ground on the turn chasing the pace, was taken to the three path in upper stretch and weakened in the drive. SHOOT THEMESSENGER chased the pace while in the three path around the turn and gave way through the stretch. EXTRA MEDIUM raced along the inner rail on the turn, angled out and was no factor. NORTHERN THUNDER , outrun, was eased late. ANTIPOISON was not a factor.
