Chart notes
ISLAND CRUISER stalked early from along the rail, tipped out on the turn, closed in on leader and reached front nearing sixteenth marker, edged away then was kept to task late to hold off the runner-up. SCATIFY was forced in leaving the gate, chased from the inside then came off the fence, regained the rail in upper stretch, rallied strongly from the inside but could not reach the winner late. SORRENTO SKY (IRE) between rivals early tracking the pace, secured the inside around the turn and waited for room behind rivals, came back out exiting the bend, got boxed in midstretch and held gamely for third. MIRACLE MARK settled outside, chased two wide and outside rival leaving the backstretch, tipped out four wide entering the stretch and lacked needed late punch in the drive from the outside. CHARGE FOR GOLD broke alertly and quickly sped to front while angling over, padded cushion on the turn, continued inside, was overtaken approaching sixteenth marker and weakened. ALWAYS ON CAY broke inward, was straightened and moved up three wide, raced outside winner on the turn, continued on same path into the stretch and also weakened.
