Chart notes
MR. HOUGHTON chased three wide, then four wide on the turn, rallied outside, took over entering the stretch, drew clear and was ridden out. GROUP TICKET was outrun early, advanced at the quarter pole, came four wide into the lane and rallied outside for second. NATURAL STAR steadied at the start, chased inside, saved ground on the turn, rallied into the second spot, then was outkicked. BARGAINING POWER chased between rivals early on, then three wide on the turn and tired. MEROKEE steadied at the start, was outrun early, came four wide into the lane and closed belatedly outside. ATTACHED was off a bit slow, raced off the pace, inside on the turn and failed to threaten. CHIEF ENGINEER chased the pacesetter, raced two wide on the turn and faded. RUN DIEM Z away alertly, showed good early speed opening up a clear lead, dueled briefly at the quarter pole and gave way in the stretch.
