Chart notes
TIM TAL showed the way as an outer rival prompted around the turn, drew clear in upper stretch and safely held sway. J. P. RACE laid off of the pace along the inside, swung five wide in upper stretch and rallied to be second best. EXPRESS CRUISER chased the top pair from the three path, got floated four wide into upper stretch, ran on to bid for place between horses leaving the furlong grounds, but got outkicked and prevailed for show. WESTERN COMMAND chased from the two path, shifted outside of the top pair entering upper stretch, gained place chasing the clear leading in midstretch, but was outkicked in the final furlong and yielded. BETTERING broke slowly, trailed in the three path, fanned six wide in upper stretch and failed to menace. SPEAKINOFTHEDEVIL prompted outside of the eventual winner but weakened in upper stretch.
