Chart notes
MYSTERY MAN cleared the lead in opening strides and crossed over to the inside, took on the challenge of MISTER SHARPIE mid-way up the backstretch, vied for the lead then shook free mid-way around the turn, came three wide into the lane, responded willingly when called upon, widened to a clear advantage and kept to task. BROADWAY PETE was allowed to settle through early stages, hustled up three wide entering the upper stretch, finished with good response and cleared second best. OCEAN RIDE tracked the pace up the backstretch, responded evenly under urging around the turn, cut the corner entering the lane and ran on for a share. MISTER SHARPIE moved up mid-way up the backstretch and challenged MYSTERY MAN for the lead, vied along the inside into the turn, could not match strides past the five sixteenths pole, ran on three wide into the lane and flattened out. RICKEY B raced in range through early stages, was ridden along two wide around the turn then gave way. EIGHT STRAIGHT raced in range in the opening quarter then steadily faded. WAITIN' ON A WOMAN failed to move into contention.
