Chart notes
GOVERNOR SAM tracked close up on the inside, bid three wide at the quarter pole, rallied outside, dueled with JET SWEEP JOE in the final furlong, put a head in front in deep stretch and prevailed. JET SWEEP JOE vied two wide for the lead, dueled with JOHNNY COME LATELY on the turn, led into the stretch, then hooked up with GOVERNOR SAM, dug in gamely inside of that rival and battled willingly to the finish. KIRIN raced two wide off the pace, chased on the turn, angled out in upper stretch and rallied mildly for third. CRAZY FRAZY raced off the pace inside, saved ground on the turn, angled out in the stretch and gained mildly outside. GHOSTLY ROSE raced on the rail and was checked in tight in the early stages, then trailed the field and did not factor. JOHNNY COME LATELY vied inside for the lead, dueled on the turn and faded in the stretch.
