Chart notes
MONTEREY PENINSULA rated off the top trio, was ridden three to four wide around the turn, moved up in range four deep mid-stretch, dug in along the outside and got up late. THE HOOF vied inside of GOLDEN LUNA up the backstretch, battled on around the turn, shook free at the head of the lane, continued to dig in under firm handling and got edged out in final strides. GOLDEN LUNA vied outside of THE HOOF up the backstretch, battled on around the turn, could not match strides with rival at the head of the lane but remained forwardly placed and sustained a game bid to the end. HASTINGS SUNRISE raced off the early pace, saved ground on the turn, shifted to the five path in the final furlong and improved late. ROCK CITY ROCKET raced off the embattled pair up the backstretch, launched a three wide bid late on the turn, remained in contention into the final furlong then weakened late. I'M AN OAK raced in the back, swung four wide into upper stretch, edged closer late but needed more for impact.
