DAKOTA GOLD was carried in at the start, saved ground on the first turn, raced at the rear while unhurried, was roused outside the three-eighths pole, went around the far turn in the three path under strong urging, was put to the crop late on that bend, turned into the stretch in the five path, rallied on the outside into the final furlong and closed strongly to get up late and prevail. SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS tucked in while taken under restraint early, raced just behind a foe while under a snug hold in the two then three path on the first turn, settled outside while given intermittent cover, was roused while moving from the two path to the three path on the far turn, rallied to get the lead outside the furlong marker, drifted out near the sixteenth-pole and was caught while able to get the place. CITY MAN broke in at the start, saved ground while reserved off the pace, moved closer to the lead with five furlongs to run, was asked outside the three-eighths pole, chased inside on the far turn, turned into the stretch in the two path, altered out behind horses while chasing near the furlong marker, moved in around the sixteenth-pole and finished willingly for the show. JERRY THE NIPPER was sent hard to the front then moved in while opening up, raced inside on the first turn, saw his lead diminish with five furlongs to run, vied inside on the far turn, was asked coming to the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage in upper stretch and was outfinished. ITSALLCOMINTOGETHA was hustled from the gate then taken in hand early, raced in the two path on the first turn, moved closer with five furlongs to run, made a bid late on the backstretch, vied in the two path on the far turn, was given his cue at the five-sixteenths pole, took a short lead into upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner outside the furlong marker and was out-kicked.
