Chart notes
JOINT VENTURE stepped to the front and took control of the rail, took pressure from DONNER LAKE up the backstretch and around the far turn, shook free at the top of the lane and remained clear over KEEN TO GO in the final furlong. KEEN TO GO stalked the speed from inside, saved ground behind JOINT VENTURE through the far turn, finished willingly from the fence down the lane but had to settle for second best. DONNER LAKE raced up close in the two path, applied pressure up the backstretch and far turn, turned away by the winner in upper stretch, weakened in the final furlong but churned on for a clear third. DARK MARCUS stalked three deep around the clubhouse turn, raced up close outside the top pair in the middle stages, lost ground under asking still three wide on the far turn and weakened down the lane. DUAL THREAT unhurried from outside, angled from the three path down to the rail around the first turn, saved ground through the second bend and lacked a response when called upon. JOHN DUNBAR settled in the two path, roused while angling out to the four path on the far turn and failed to menace.
