Chart notes
BASEBALL POLITICS was soon clear of the rest, showed the way in hand from inside, was roused into the lane, widened command under urging then maintained control ridden out the final sixteenth. SANTINO'S FANTASY was steadied briefly while in tight between horses midway on the backstretch, took the bend three wide, edged ahead for second upper stretch, battled to hold his position and narrowly held the place while bumped at the wire. SEMINOLE BEACH gradually forced in on the backstretch, did not keep up while along the rail on the turn, rallied in the stretch then drifted out in the final strides bumping SANTINO'S FANTASY. SWISS GUARD broke a step slow and inward, advanced from outside to prompt the early pace, stayed just off the rail through the bend then gradually wore down from between rivals in the stretch. ANDTHETHUNDERROLLS a bit slow and somewhat awkward at the start, trailed from inside, came off the rail some for the stretch run and made up minor ground. DIAMOND MAXIMUS broke alertly but was soon outrun, angled out early for a clear path, followed SANTINO'S FANTASY through the turn and had no late bid.
