Chart notes
OFF TO THE RACES soon sprinted clear of the rest, moved to the inside, was kept in hand through the bend, roused into the lane, drew off again upper stretch and kept PERFUMER at bay in the late going under steady handling. PERFUMER bumped at the start, was without early speed, picked up his pace while staying off the inside on the turn, angled out five wide at the top of the stretch, tried to lug in a couple times but was corrected going to the furlong marker, was all out as he gradually lugged in the final eighth, came up short at the wire but was clearly best of the others. OUT WORK'M broke outward, bumping PERFUMER, chased from between rivals, came into contention three wide on the bend, edged ahead for second upper stretch, was no match for OFF TO THE RACES and began to wear down inside the last furlong. DRAMA CRITIC chased from outside, also reached contention while widest through the turn, lodged a mild bid in the lane, angled out some inside the final sixteenth and narrowly missed third. INSIDE THE CIRCLE was hustled along at the start but soon chasing OFF TO THE RACES, loomed a threat just outside the latter on the turn but gave way through the stretch. DRAGGING MAIN hesitated at the start and was always outrun in a ground-saving trip.
