Chart notes
MIDNIGHT'S GIRL broke outward, bumping JULYNNE, was gradually forced inward by CANTOO as she vied for the early lead, checked slightly along the rail after a quarter mile, checked again more firmly approaching the three-furlong marker, stayed along the rail through the turn, rallied in the lane, edged ahead inside the last sixteenth and prevailed. CANTOO broke on top, gradually angled in as she contested the early pace, moved clear on the turn, stayed just off the inside, was challenged from inside after entering the final furlong, battled gamely but had to settle for second best. GHAALEB'S CITY moved toward the outside early on, moved up from outside to threaten four wide leaving the bend, drew clear for third upper stretch, could not close the gap on the top pair the last eighth but was clearly best of the others. TORTUGA ISLAND fractious in the gate, raced in contention between rivals for a half mile, began to yield three wide leaving the turn, angled outside GHAALEB'S CITY at the top of the stretch and continued to fade. JULYNNE bumped at the start, advanced from inside, was just off the rail taking the bend then gave way for the drive. A REAL HERO soon trailed, stayed widest of all and showed little.
