Chart notes
MAPACHE G left the gate slowly and with a slight lunge, gradually progressed from inside to reach contention on the bend, continued his bid in the stretch, edged ahead with a sixteenth left and kept MODAZZLE at bay. MODAZZLE rated from outside, went for the lead on the turn, squeezed through three wide between rivals with two furlongs to go, took the advantage midstretch, was challenged from inside nearing the final sixteenth, battled gamely, lugged in beside MAPACHE G inside the sixteenth marker and had to settle for second best. READTHETRANSCRIPT very reluctant to go to the gate, displayed early speed from inside once the race began, came off the rail some into the lane, moved clear briefly, was challenged from outside nearing the eighth pole and gradually wore down from between horses the final furlong. GRAPHENE CASSOCK prominent toward the outside, lost ground four wide on the bend, fanned out further entering the stretch and gradually yielded. SUPER SILVER leaned on the inside of his gate when it opened and left it far behind the rest of the field, made up some ground while just off the inside taking the turn, angled out widest upper stretch and failed to have a significant response. LIMA ZULU vied for the lead outside READTHETRANSCRIPT to the top of the stretch then gave way. There was a stewards' inquiry into SUPER SILVER'S start. It was deemed SUPER SILVER was prepared to start with the field but made the choice to linger against the gate and no action was taken.
