Chart notes
ALOHA CHROME tracked the moderate early pace from the second flight, well placed into the turn, chased from the two path nearing the quarter pole, shifted to the inside into upper stretch and ran evenly to the furlong marker, was full of run into the final sixteenth, took command in deep stretch and held well in the final strides for a determined win. FAST CHAZ broke alertly, cleared the field leaving the start and assumed early command, set a prompted pace heading to the half-mile marker, shook free into the turn and dictated terms nearing the quarter pole, drew to a clear lead into the stretch, kept to task while holding foes at bay past the furlong marker, was all out in deep stretch and was tagged for the win in the final strides, while holding for second at the finish. THIRSTY FRIEND prominent away from the start, prompted the moderate early pace from the inside heading to the half-mile pole, shifted to the outside and chased the pace two to three wide nearing the quarter pole, outkicked into upper stretch, re-rallied and stubbornly stayed on into the final furlong, was outfinished in deep stretch and was well clear for third in a good effort. SIBERIAN SLEW allowed to settle in the early stages, saved ground into the turn and trailed approaching the quarter pole, maintained an inside path into the stretch, could not muster the needed late response and passed tired rivals in the stretch. BANDON GIG showed good early speed and prompted the pace between runners heading to the half-mile marker, shifted out a path nearing the turn and chased three to four wide approaching the quarter pole, could not keep pace into upper stretch and tired in the drive. SLADE CUTTER was crowded by a neighboring rival and was off a bit slowly, recovered and tracked the moderate early pace from the outside, went widest into the turn and chased five wide nearing the quarter pole, maintained a wide path into the stretch, was outrun to the furlong marker and stopped in the late stages. SENOR FEDERICO broke out at the start and bothered a neighboring rival, chased the moderate early pace from between rivals, ran in pursuit four wide and between runners entering the turn, lost position and chased three wide into upper stretch, lacked a response in the drive and came up empty in the final furlong. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
