Chart notes
NOTHING IS FOREVER unhurried from the break, was content to trail early, launched a bid from the seven-sixteenths marker, went four wide on the turn then five wide into the stretch, rallied under steady handling and intermittent urging, swept by SUNGLASSES (GB) in mid-stretch and drew off under steady handling in the final yards. SUNGLASSES (GB) showed good speed from the break without being asked, steadied off heels at the six furlong pole, then continued to pull down the backstretch with the rider trying to temper the pace, was let loose near the seven-sixteenths marker and quickly assumed the lead, opened up passing the quarter pole then began to shorten strides and gave way readily to the winner but was still well clear of the rest. DERRYGOOLIN reserved early, got off the rail and into the two path for the run through the first turn, made some forward progress down the backstretch while under a mild hand ride, came under heavy pressure after passing the three furlong pole and stayed on for the third spot. TIZZY TWISTER was outrun in the early going, tracked mid-pack to the half then started to lose ground heading into the turn, never mounted a rally but managed to pass tired ones in the stretch. PROOF OF JAZZ broke well and set out for the lead, was left to dictate the fractions with MADEIRA WINE and SUNGLASSES (GB) attending the pace close behind, gave way readily when SUNGLASSES (GB) went on from the five-sixteenths pole then tired in the stretch. MADEIRA WINE hustled from the outside to get forward position, stalked PROOF OF JAZZ through the initial stages the was joined by SUNGLASSES (GB) from the half mile pole, started to struggle after passing the three furlong marker and had nothing left for the stretch run.
