LADY IN RED was hustled from the outside leading up top under a good clip, improved the advantage freewheeling down the backstretch, continued unopposed around the final turn and had something left when encouraged right-handed at the furlong pole to hold off all rivals for the victory. KATHERINE'S GEM had an inside position tracking the pacesetter early on, moved in closer chasing the winner in vain around the final bend, could not reel in the winner who had more at the furlong pole and just held on to the runners up share at the wire. MIZZEN ASH was pinched back to trail at the start, began to pick up the bit splitting foes three wide in upper stretch and was coming on smartly late to almost get the nod at the wire for the place share. ASHBURY stalked at the back three deep, had a good turn of foot three wide midway on the far turn, angled between horses six wide straightening out for home and ran on willingly in deep stretch to come on late to settle on the fringes in the end. UMNEYAAT travelled in mid-division three wide on the first turn, shuffled back a touch to be outside in the third tier down the backstretch, was roused with five sixteenths from home but made little gain on the turn, shifted five wide for the drive to the line and was gaining gradually in the lane but did not have enough late to pose a threat. MAKE NO MISTAKE stalked in the third flight under a tight hold loping along the backstretch, edged closer on the rail in the final bend to be in the hunt on the fence at the top of the stretch, could not quicken late with others making a move and flattened out in the final seventy yards. GABBY SQUARED broke in on the break, settled near the back of the pack outside in the early stages, was urged four wide with three eighths to go, offered little response on the turn, swung out widest in the seven path turning for home and could not factor on the wrong lead in the stretch drive. PRINCESSOFTHENORTH stalked in midfield inside, galloped along ahead of a couple runners down the back straight, save ground but made no headway on the final turn and was no menace in the stretch drive. ROYAL BLUSH broke out on the start, tracked outside in the first turn, chased outside along the backstretch, was ridden to keep up with foes on the far turn and backed away between horses four wide in upper stretch.
