Chart notes
TURF CAT reserved off the pace to the turn, was in striking position from three wide behind the leaders turning for home, angled out in upper stretch to engage the runner-up midway down the lane, dueled with that one to the wire and prevailed in the final strides. BEE LA SOUL stalked the pacesetter down the backside from three wide, ranged up to take the lead at the head of the lane, responded when challenged by the winner and battled to the wire in a game effort. HIGHTAIL FOX tracked the leaders through the turn from two wide, searched for racing room in upper stretch, was caught between the top pair mid-stretch without racing room and finished willingly. RIVAGE was unhurried early to be at the rear to the field, and made a steady gain from midway on the turn passed weaker rivals. REASON TO BELIEVE chased the front pairings through the turn while racing five wide and failed to mount a closing rally. PANCHO SLIPS AWAY broke alertly to take control from the gate, opened a clear lead down the backside and had no answer when challenged nearing the quarter pole, tiring through the stretch.
