Chart notes
GOTTS GOT IT reserved in hand in the first quarter mile to be off the pace, rallied into the turn from four wide to engage the pacesetter turning for home, dueled with that one to midway down the lane and pulled clear in deep stretch. STRIDER'S SLIDER cruised up the fence to take the lead shortly away from the gate, opened a clear lead to the turn, responded when engaged nearing the quarter pole, battled to inside the eighth pole and weakened late in the drive while able to hold the place. JOHN DUTTON was well placed just off the leader along the rail to the turn, gained on the leader from the fence in a three horse team around the bend and kept grinding through the lane to just miss the place. FACE DOWN stalked the pace from three wide between rivals through the turn while in an early drive and flattened out coming home. COLONEL POPPY rated off the pace in mid-pack from five wide and was never able to close ground going evenly. CAMINO DE SANTIAGO unhurried to be near the rear of the field, swung eight wide turning for home and had no impact prevailing in a match of the trailing pair. FALK trailed and never posed a threat.
