Chart notes
VALIANT SON settled behind the pace duel, tracked to the turn then moved out to the three path, advanced into contention approaching the quarter pole, took command in upper stretch with a four wide sweep into the lane and drew off in the end. RIGHT HAND RYDER pressed and dueled with BLUEGRASS GO GO through the early stages then dropped back near the five-sixteenths pole, came back on in the stretch to win the race for second. DRINKS AT THE CLUB raced between horses in the tracking group through the early stages, was getting outrun, exchanged a few light bumps with ELEGANT BOY in upper stretch then found best stride late and was able to grab the third spot. ELEGANT BOY was not asked for speed from the break, tracked close up but five wide down the backstretch, dropped in towards the rail on the turn, tried to mount a late bid but could not find the needed response. BLUEGRASS GO GO broke well and went to the front, was joined by RIGHT HAND RYDER and dueled that one to the turn, took a short lead approaching the quarter pole but could not go in in the late stages and was outfinished. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
