Chart notes
DOO WOP DON hopped at the start and was a step slow to begin, allowed to settle while never far back, was guided four wide into the turn and loomed at the quarter pole, rallied into the stretch, took command nearing the furlong marker and surged clear in the late stages. TOWN PERFORMER showed speed away from the start, engaged with GODSEND in the early going and contested a solid pace inside of that rival heading to the half-mile pole, shook free into the turn and set the pace from the two path nearing the quarter marker, drifted out into upper stretch and was confronted by DOO WOP DON at the three-sixteenths, overtaken by that rival approaching the furlong grounds, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and was a clear second best. GODSEND sent leaving the start, engaged with TOWN PERFORMER and disputed the solid early pace outside of that rival, pressed the pace into the turn, lost position along the bend and chased between runners nearing the quarter pole, got caught a bit in tight between horses into upper stretch, could not keep pace with the top two in the final furlong and was a clear third. HEY BATMAN chased the solid pace inside of runners, lost ground into the turn and ran in pursuit from the two then three path nearing the quarter pole, lacked a response into the stretch drive and tired late. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
