Chart notes
WE MISS ARLINGTON broke inward, bumping solidly with SOMNUS, advanced while toward the outside, vied for the lead three wide on the bend, angled in beside SOMNUS upper stretch, edged ahead under hand urging, was clear with a sixteenth left, was ridden out the rest of the way and held on under confident handling. NATIONS DREAM chased from between horses, was just off the rail taking the turn, angled out four wide upper stretch, surged as he lugged in under right-handed pressure in the late going and came up short. SOMNUS broke outward, bumping solidly with WE MISS ARLINGTON, pressed the early speed from along the rail, went for the lead on the bend, slowly wore down deep stretch but was easily best of the others. SOLOMON VANDY soon trailed from outside, stayed off the inside taking the turn, altered inside when SENDEMDOWNTHEROAD crossed his path with a sixteenth left and improved his position without threatening. LARRY THE POET raced in contention from outside, lost ground widest through the bend and gave way for the drive. RHODIUMS PRIDE showed little in a ground-saving trip. SENDEMDOWNTHEROAD broke on top and outward, was soon clear of the rest, showed the way staying off the inside, was challenged from both sides on the turn, gave way into the stretch and drifted out the last sixteenth.
