Chart notes
BOBBY ANTON broke alertly and was sent to the early lead, set a decent pace while prompted nearing the half-mile marker, shook free into the turn and led to the quarter pole, kicked to a clear lead into the stretch, was kept to task under firm urging into the final sixteenth, felt late pressure from the oncoming runner-up and lasted for the win at the finish. GETEMDUSTY rated off of the decent early pace, raced three wide into the turn, shifted widest in upper stretch and advanced at the furlong marker, closed fast past mid-stretch, surged in the final strides and just missed for the win, while besting the rest. TIGERSUN broke out at the start and was away a step slowly, initially took back off of the early pace then advanced between rivals heading to the half-mile pole, chased four then three wide along the turn and was well placed at the quarter pole, ran in pursuit of BOBBY ANTON into upper stretch, could not find the needed late response and was outkicked in the final sixteenth, while holding safely for third. UPDRAFT settled off of the decent early pace, raced three to four wide along the turn, gained ground into upper stretch, showed good late interest but could not reel in the leaders in deep stretch. WHATAFOOLBELIEVES was crowded a bit by a neighboring rival at the start and broke slowly, lacked early speed and trailed in the early stages, saved ground into the turn, finished evenly in the stretch drive and passed tired rivals in the late stages. MOOLA MAN chased the decent early pace outside of rivals, went five then four wide into the turn and was well placed at the quarter pole, lost ground into upper stretch and tired in the final furlong. RIVER'S BENCHMARK prominent leaving the start, prompted the decent early pace outside of BOBBY ANTON, stalked the pacesetter three then two wide into the turn, was outkicked into upper stretch and faded in the final furlong. BEAR ENCOUNTER tracked the decent early pace from the inside, got caught in tight midway through the turn and altered course at the five-sixteenths, lost ground approaching the quarter pole and gave way in the stretch drive. HANK WILLIAMS chased the decent pace from the inside, saved ground into the turn and ran in pursuit nearing the quarter marker, weakened in upper stretch and lacked a late response.
