Chart notes
ARCTIC BREEZE tracked just behind and to the outside of MARS MAGIC while always traveling well, went to challenge that foe approaching the quarter pole then responded when set down at the top of the stretch, sprinted away under steady handling and won going away. JESSEBEAR broke in slightly at the start and was unhurried early, bided time at the rear of the compact field, responded when set down from the five-sixteenths pole and finished well under steady handling and intermittent urging to gain the place in the final yards. INDY'S STAR broke well and settled inside just behind the slow pace, was content with that position down the backstretch and into the far turn, came off the rail near the five-sixteenths pole and bid for the lead to the outside of ARCTIC BREEZE, proved no match for that rival in the stretch run but finished well under steady handling. MARS MAGIC seized the early lead as everyone else took back, slowed down the pace to a crawl early, held on to the top of the stretch then failed to change leads and weakened. VULIN was taken in hand from the start and tracked three wide through the early going while under a light hold, was asked to go on near the three furlong pole but could not quicken with the rest and finished evenly. BREVE raced close up near the rear of the pack while saving ground, was never far from the front in the compact field, did not go on with the rest from the three sixteenths pole, dropped far behind and was eased in the stretch.
