Chart notes
EL MUCHO broke a bit inward, bumped his rear with LELAND JOHN leaving the chute, shared the lead just outside C C RITHMS, moved ahead into the bend, stayed just off the inside and held off OSCAR NOMINEE under steady handling inside the final furlong. OSCAR NOMINEE bounced off C C RITHMS just after break, bumped off LELAND JOHN after that then back into C C RITHMS, altered his path several times to advance, moved clear for second from behind EL MUCHO on the turn, fanned outside that one entering the lane, loomed a serious threat with a sixteenth left, leveled off in the waning yards but was clearly second best. MOVE IN SILENCE prominent from outside, progressed three wide on the bend, drawing clear for third, drifted out some into the stretch and could only hold his position while making up minor ground in the late going. PETE'S LEGACY soon trailed from inside, came off the rail some for a clear path on the turn, altered out three wide at the top of the lane for racing room and showed a willingness to run late between rivals. RED ROIL chased from outside, was widest taking the bend and also closed the gap belatedly the last furlong. BRUCE ATTACK without early speed, gradually improved position along or just off the rail to upper stretch then leveled off. C C RITHMS bumped with OSCAR NOMINEE at the start then was bumped solidly again by the latter a few stride later, quickly recovered to vie for the early lead but began to fade on the turn. LELAND JOHN was bumped solidly by OSCAR NOMINEE shortly after the start then bumped with EL MUCHO leaving the chute, chased from between rivals, faded three wide on the turn, angled out widest upper stretch and had little to offer the rest of the way.
