Chart notes
ATKINS rated from between rivals, was let out some after a half mile, vied for the lead just outside JACK SPRAT, took the lead into the lane and drew off under a mild drive the last furlong. JACK SPRAT bumped with CITY OF GOD shortly after the start, soon had a clear lead, sprinted away on the backstretch, did not keep up his pace after a half mile, was headed from outside leaving the second turn, no match for ATKINS the last eighth but stayed clear for the place. SKYLANE settled at the back, advanced along the rail after four furlongs, angled out widest at the top of the stretch and caught HIGHLY PERFECT for third late. HIGHLY PERFECT chased the top pair from just off or along the rail, moved clear for third upper stretch, began drifting out with a furlong to go and was outfinished for the show. CITY OF GOD bumped with JACK SPRAT after the break, progressed from outside to have a striking position three wide on the second turn, floated out some into the lane and gave way. MAC PANDOWDY chased from between horses, closed the gap two wide on the second bend but also gave way for the drive. DANVILLE showed little.
