Chart notes
PONTUS gradually angled in on the backstretch as he shared the early lead, moved clear when allowed on the turn, widened command under urging in the lane and was allowed to coast in the waning yards. GRAYHOP a step slow at the break, advanced from outside, was four wide on the bend, angled in some leaving the turn and drew off for second the last eighth. STANCE pressed the early speed from just off the inside, was no match for the top pair when set down for the drive but managed to hold his position in the late going. SPAN was a brief contender between horses, angled out through the turn and improved position widest in the lane without threatening. TIGGER ATTACK was soon well back and only passed outside a couple tired rivals late. TRUIST displayed early speed from inside, did not stay with PONTUS on the turn and gave way the last two furlongs. HE'S A FINE MAN forwardly placed between rivals, was three wide on the bend and also came up empty for the drive.
