Chart notes
SMOOTH JUSTICE took the early lead from outside, gradually angled in, was overtaken by SMILE AT THE STORM nearing the end of two furlongs, went for the lead again two wide on the turn, had the advantage into the stretch and kept the latter at bay under steady handling. SMILE AT THE STORM broke awkwardly, progressed from outside, headed SMOOTH JUSTICE nearing the end of a quarter mile, moved clear into the bend, took the rail, was challenged leaving the turn, lost the lead into the lane, never relented but did not have enough left in the late going. I LUV THIS BAR forwardly placed toward the outside, was three then four wide through the turn, moved clear for third upper stretch then rallied too late inside the last eighth. LIFE OF SATURDAYS raced in contention just outside I LUV THIS BAR and also found best stride too late deep stretch. ORNERY ANGEL was caught in close quarters between rivals after travelling the first eighth, jostled with BEIRUT BEAUTY repeatedly midway on the backstretch, improved position along the rail taking the turn and showed a willingness to run late. BEIRUT BEAUTY was caught in tight along the rail after the first furlong, jostled repeatedly through midway on the backstretch, was just off the rail on the bend, fanned out some for the drive and also closed the gap belatedly deep stretch. SUMMER AT THE SPA was a contender between rivals but began to fade before finishing three furlongs.
