Chart notes
DIRECT THE CAT closed to stalking position and raced off the rail the first turn, challenged nearing the three eighths pole, dueled for the lead two deep midway on the far turn, ran clear toward the sixteenth pole and was kept alert to widen later yards. MAGGIE'S GIRL took a quick lead inside and rated the pace, came under pressure nearing the three eighths pole, was met at the rail midway on the far turn then dropped back while flattening stride mid-stretch. GREAT SPIRIT settled off the rail the opening turn, bid nearing the seven sixteenths pole, raced in the three path on the far turn and ran evenly in the lane. ALPINE MOON saved ground on the first turn, picked up the chase nearing the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn near the rail and showed little in the lane. AZZURRA settled back in the five path the first turn, raced outside into the backstretch and showed little response. BREADMAN'S ROSEBUD settled back off the rail the opening turn and never factored. MOONLIT SHADOW raced in the three path the first turn, left the turn toward the outside and gave chase from the half mile pole, but faded past the three eighths.
