Chart notes
LEMON TWIST was eager fighting the riders restraint stalking near the rear in the early going, moved in while rank coming up to runners at the half, settled into stride by midturn, swooped five wide around horses when roused at the quarter pole, had a full head of steam carrying that momentum widest in the seven path with six foes abreast turning for home and under a vigorous ride prevailed outside at the wire. HANLAN was tucked in on the fence behind the lead duo down the backside, waited in the two path behind the leaders lacking running room at the quarter pole, found a seam three wide in upper stretch, fought on gamely but was just outkicked by the winner who got the jump on him in upper stretch. STEPHEN B GOOD had a tracking role four deep outside runners, moved in to bid four wide between rivals at the quarter pole, was knocked off stride by the inside runner when in the hunt trying to maintain position at the top of the stretch, fought back determinedly with horses on both sides while vying for the lead at the eighth pole but needed more late settling for a clear third at the finish line. CLIVE CROSS settled three wide between horses watching the lead twosome, closed in to be in the thick of things between runners in the three path at the quarter pole, was bumped then pinched between horses losing action five wide straightening out for the drive and came back mildly late to settle for a minor placing in the end. CONTRIVANCE dueled on the fence for the lead along the backside, continued inside battling up top throughout the turn, was clinging onto the lead two wide inside many foes at the top of the lane, could not find another gear late and gave way on the rail by the furlong pole. MIAH SAID pressed the pace outside down the backstretch, continued to fight it out dueling with the inside foe around the turn, started to get weary drifting out in the five path turning for home bumping the outside rival and folded between horses three wide at the furlong marker. JAVA POWER hit the gate on the break trailing the field down the back straight, passed a rival midway around the bend but could not factor anymore in the drive to the wire. HIGHLAND ROCKY was away alertly on the start, dropped back through the backstretch while being roused for more, regressed further to be at the rear by the quarter pole and could not get involved in the stretch running. RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL #3 CLIVE CROSS AGAINST #5 STEPHEN B GOOD IN UPPER STRETCH WAS DISALLOWED
