Chart notes
HIGHLAND LIFE had a good spot tracking the leader outside down the backstretch, moved in outside with three eighths from home, seized control comfortably midturn, opened up in the three-path straightening out for the drive and was kept to the task to the wire to hold on by a diminishing margin at the finish line for the win. YACHT BOY stalked on the rail ahead of one runner in the beginning, rushed up in the two path while in tight getting better forward position between rivals at the half, closed the gap smartly on the leader throughout the turn, posed the only threat five wide at the top of the stretch and was getting to the winner late but was not in time in the end. PAT'S GAMBLE travelled between runners in mid-division three wide at the half when the field bunched up, kept pace with rivals three wide around the bend, angled out six wide turning for home between foes, darted inside to the three path making a move for the show award in mid-stretch and evened out late to be a clear third at the wire. WET AND WILD travelled in midfield four deep in a compact group outside of rivals at the half, gradually advanced four wide around horses in the turn, angled out to the seven path at the top of the lane and passed a couple of weary foes in the final furlong on the outside. LUCKY ROMANCE veered out on the break, was allowed to settle into stride seeing the field down the back straight, made no impact through the turn, angled out seven wide for the drive and managed to pass a couple of weary foes outside by the eighth pole. KING ELVIS was brushed outside on the break, prompted the pace early on inside of the frontrunner, had to be taken back conceding the rail with nine sixteenths from home, became headstrong fighting the rider when sitting behind the pacesetter down the backside, backed away on the fence on the turn at the quarter pole and could not play a role in the stretch running. FRAC RIGHT broke in at the start, set the pace in the two path between foes in the beginning, improved the advantage getting to the rail in mid-backstretch, was collared outside at the five sixteenths marker by the winner, offered no resistance even though urged right handed at the quarter pole giving way to the leader and stopped abruptly on the fence by the furlong pole and was not persevered with late.
