SUNSET GRAZEN close up away from the start, stalked the early pace two to three wide into the first turn, prompted the moderate pace through the backstretch run, pressed EMPRESS LORRAYNE into the far turn then took command into upper stretch, drew to a clear lead at the furlong marker, was ridden out past mid-stretch and drew off as much the best in the late stages. EMPRESS LORRAYNE sent to assume early command, set a prompted pace into the backstretch run, carved out moderate fractions while pressured into the second turn, overtaken by SUNSET GRAZEN into upper stretch, was no match for the winner in the stretch drive and held well for second in the final sixteenth. THIRSTY NIC allowed to settle in the early stages, unhurried while saving ground through the backstretch, chased two to three wide into the far turn, needed more into the stretch drive but stayed on late to earn show honors. SPICY ROSSO tracked the early pace four then three wide into the first turn, unhurried through the backstretch run, raced four wide into the far turn, slipped to the two path and chased into upper stretch, lacked a late response and was outfinished for third. FULL MOON GRAZEN lacked early speed, guided three wide along the first turn, unhurried through the backstretch run, chased five then four wide into the far turn, could not muster the needed response in the stretch drive and did not threaten late. SHIPPING LANE tracked the early pace from the outside, was three to four wide along the first turn, well placed into the backstretch run, lost ground into the far turn and tired in the stretch drive.
