Chart notes
DULY NOTED got off to an awkward start, took up then steadied slightly when GIANT KID crossed paths near the five furlong marker, moved to the rail then was patiently handled to the turn, made a middle move through the turn to get into contention, launched a bold rally up the rail in the stretch altered course to the three path near the sixteenth pole, found an opening and surged ahead in the final yards. CLARINA broke well and tracked the hot pace while saving all the ground, hugged the rail through the turn then advanced into contention for the lead in upper stretch, briefly took the lead inside the final furlong but could not hold on in a gallant effort. LADY GREGORY was hustled from the break and chased VICTORIA'S CHARGE down the backstretch and to the top of the stretch, came three wide into the lane finished well despite racing on the left lead but had to settle for a minor award. STRANGE ADDICTION settled mid-pack while racing four wide down the backstretch, launched a bid with three furlongs to do and finished well under a drive but came up short. VICTORIA'S CHARGE broke sharply and went out to set very quick fractions, opened up on the field on the turn, held the lead to mid-stretch then gave way in the final furlong. GIANT KID lacked speed and was well behind the field early on, was still far back going into the turn then started to run on from the three furlong marker but could not improve. MAGIC CHROME broke well and tracked three wide behind the pace, did not go on when asked near the three furlong marker and hand nothing to offer late. LUSMA was pushed on from the break but was not able to contest the early pace, tracked mid-pack to the turn then came under heavy pressure near the quarter pole and was outfinished down the stretch.
