Chart notes
ROMANESQUE vied inside a trio of rivals up the backstretch, dueled with RODRIGUEZ around the turn, inched ahead in upper stretch and drew clear in the final sixteenth. RODRIGUEZ away quickly from outside, vied four deep up the backstretch, dueled outside ROMANESQUE through the bend, fought to midstretch, then yielded to the winner but was clearly second best. THE LAST STRAW broke a bit slow, stalked in range well off the rail, chased four wide into the turn, asked around the bend while angling down to the two path, weakened in the drive but was able to best the rest. POST GAME vied three deep up the backstretch, chased the leaders three then two wide on the turn, tipped back to the three path approaching the stretch and weakened. NOBLE MINDED pressed between rivals in the early going, chased two wide then found the rail around the bend and faded. STARGELL broke inward and was quickly corrected, chased the top quarter under coaxing, saved ground through the turn, tired and eased in the lane and walked off.
