Chart notes
MONEY MAKES MONEY pressed the pace three deep up the backstretch, chased two then three wide on the turn, challenged three deep at the top of the lane while coming over a bit to bother RUNNING SPARTAN, kicked clear midstretch, padded the margin to the sixteenth pole and was in hand near the wire. FINAL EDITION (IRE) got crowded along the rail early and dropped back to last, raced on the fence then two wide on the turn, tipped out into the lane, came with late run and earned the place honors. JUST BEFORE DAWN pulled behind the pacesetter on the backstretch, tucked to the inside on the turn, remained near the fence in the lane and got up for third. LAUGIER NIGHT (IRE) moved inside early, tracked between at the three-eighths pole then rounded the bend in the two path, moved out in the lane and showed a mild response but got edged for the show. RUNNING SPARTAN raced up close inside the pacesetter, got put in tight by that rival at the three-eighths pole, followed along the rail then shifted over to the two path, bid between rivals at the top of the lane but got crowded by the winner, kept trying late but could not summon the needed late kick. IN SUSPENSE set the pace under pressure from rivals on both sides, moved over to the rail and led clear through the turn, challenged by a pair of rivals at the top of the lane, yielded to the winner and weakened in the late stages. MARDY'S FISH settled outside a rival in the early going, fell back to last three then two wide on the turn, tired in the lane, eased in the furlong grounds and walked off.
