Chart notes
DIAL A FRIEND set the pace under pressure from BEAU SOLEIL to the inside, cleared that rival at the seven-sixteenths pole, tucked inside on the turn, asked right handed in upper stretch, switched to the left midstretch and remained clear while in hand approaching the wire. BEAU SOLEIL pressed the pace from inside up the backstretch, chased after DIAL A FRIEND into the turn, switched over to the two path, stayed within range into the final furlong and finished willingly for a clear second. DR. RAY D. bumped with SAPADILLA and bobbled at the start, chased off the rail then outside that rival up the backstretch, moved out to the three path on the turn then steered into the two path again, kept on through the lane and edged SAPADILLA for the show honors. SAPADILLA bumped with DR. RAY D. leaving the gate, coaxed along early out of range of the top pair, saved ground through the turn and got outdueled for the show honors. FLYMETOTHEMOONBABY lacked early speed and trailed well off the rail in the early going, entered the turn in the three path, angled to the rail then chased two wide into the lane and passed a tired rival. FILTHY FAST pursued in range from off the rail, took the turn two then three wide and weakened in the stretch run. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE START AND RULED THAT DR. RAY D. AND SAPADILLA BOTH CONTRIBUTED TO THE INCIDENT AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
