Chart notes
SYDNEY STREET (GB) settled inside off the speed, patiently handled around the far turn, shifted two wide leaving the bend, moved out in upper stretch, rallied and drew alongside GREAT KING (FR) at the sixteenth pole, then edged clear late. GREAT KING (FR) forwardly placed while racing keenly in the two path then on the inside, followed behind the leader through the far turn, tipped two wide into the lane, challenged in upper stretch, took over midstretch, put away inner rival with a sixteenth remaining while meeting the bid from SYDNEY STREET (GB) and yielded to that rival late. EXULTATION tracked from inside, roused on the fence entering the lane, lacked room in upper stretch and steadied at the eighth pole, tipped out a bit for a clear path and finished willingly for third. MOODY JIM (IRE) traveled between runners in the two path off the pace, pushed on three wide around the turn, chased four wide into the lane and offered a mild rally. SEISMIC SPIRIT (IRE) stepped to the front and controlled the pace from inside, showed the way from the fence to the top of the lane, challenged by outer rival in upper stretch, lost command midstretch, yielded at the sixteenth pole and flattened to fifth. RUSSELLS HUSTLE raced in range three deep around both turns, spun four wide into the lane and finished evenly late. EVENING SUN (GB) settled outside a rival towards the rear, continued two wide off the pace into the far turn, angled out and chased four to five wide into the lane and failed to threaten. MAN FRIDAY broke in the air, angled to the inside traveling near the back, moved out for the far turn, traveled three wide then angled out to the five path and failed to make an impact. LOW EXPECTATIONS reluctant loading, stalked up close three then two wide outside a rival, chased between foes at the quarter pole, entered the lane in the three path and faded out of contention. LAST CALL LONDON dwelt at the start, trailed on the inside, saved ground to the stretch and never got involved. AURELIAN MAN tracked two wide between runners, ridden along on the far turn, chased three wide into the lane and tired. THE STEWARDS REVIEWED THE STARTS OF BOTH LAST CALL LONDON AND MAN FRIDAY AND RULED THAT BOTH HORSES CAUSED THEIR OWN PROBLEMS AT THE START AND ARE CONSIDERED STARTERS.
