Chart notes
MRS. ASTOR settled inside then moved over to the two path on the first turn, continued in the two path on the clubhouse turn, came under a ride on the final bend, entered the lane in the three path, bid three deep in upper stretch, emerged clear at the eighth pole and was able to keep FOREVER AFTER ALL at bay through the final furlong. FOREVER AFTER ALL stalked two wide then along the rail, got put in tight and checked hard early on the final turn, angled four wide into the stretch, finished gamely from outside but lacked the needed late punch to overtake the winner. MARKSMAN QUEEN (GB) tracked two wide in hand, shifted in and bothered FOREVER AFTER ALL early on the far turn, lightly coaxed in pursuit of the leader around that bend, bid between rivals in upper stretch but was no match for the top pair in the late stages. MAHINA unhurried and tucked inside at the back, trailed up the backstretch, altered out past the three-eighths pole, came four wide into the lane and earned a minor award. IMA JOKER showed early speed from inside, headed around the first turn and ceded command to outer rival to take a stalking position, inherited the lead leaving the backstretch, showed the way along the inside into the drive, challenged by pair of rivals in upper stretch, relinquished the lead shortly after and gave way in the final furlong. MOMENT'S PLEASURE reserved in the early going and moved inside, altered out past the three-eighths pole, chased two wide into the lane and weakened in the drive. EVERYTHING BUGS ME stalked briefly then went up challenge for command around the first turn, cleared inner rival approaching the stretch, showed the way around the clubhouse turn, was guided out at the half-mile pole and eased slowly out of the race leaving the backstretch, coasted around the final turn, pulled up with the outrider in the furlong grounds and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT ON THE FINAL TURN AND RULED THAT MARKSMAN QUEEN (GB) DID COME OVER AND CAUSE FOREVER AFTER ALL TO TAKE UP BUT SINCE FOREVER AFTER ALL FINISHED AHEAD OF MARKSMAN QUEEN (GB) THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR A CHANGE. DUE TO A TIMER MALFUNCTION RACE SEVEN WAS HAND-TIMED.
