Chart notes
VICTORY ACHIEVED had company outside in early backstretch, moved away on the fence comfortably to lead by the half, travelled well within himself still hounded outside through the turn, edged away from the early speed foe by the quarter pole, braced for the new challenger outside in upper stretch, quickly repelled that foe opening up by the eighth pole and under mild urging held safe to the wire. SIMCOE had a good trip nestled behind the front foursome down the back straight, kept pace sitting just behind the frontrunner around the turn, shifted out two wide posing the only threat at the top of the stretch, could not switch leads down the lane and stubbornly chased the winner home. INDIAN PEAK pressed the pace outside in mid-backstretch, hounded the pacesetter around the turn, could not close in outside by the quarter pole, shifted out three wide at the top of the stretch but could not match strides with the top two finishers to the wire and settled on a distant third with the field strung out at the finish line. GILT EDGE prompted the pace four deep at the start, dropped back still four wide to co-trail at the half, resurged outside three wide in midturn, angled to the five path for the stretch run and finished up willingly, closing late at the finish to settle on the fringes in the end. SOCIETY'S THUNDER was under a long rein loping along down the backside at the rear just off the fence, was checked mildly in tight for a moment in the two path at the three eighths pole, had a quick turn of foot splitting foes midway around the bend, shifted to the four path turning for home but was one paced in the lane and was caught at the wire losing out the minor share placing. PERFECT CRIME tracked the pacesetter three wide between foes along the backside, was shuffled back to see the field with five sixteenths to go and could not be a presence in the stretch running.
