Chart notes

DENNARD was unhurried early, rallied three-wide into the stretch, angled out to be six-wide nearing the eighth pole and finished fast to be up in the final strides. EL ALTO HOMBRE saved ground setting the pace, responded when asked and held on gamely to lose a tough decision. IMPASSIONED CLAIM prompted EL ALTO HOMBRE from along the outside and finished well for third in a good effort. BEL RAGAZZO settled in the middle of the field early, came two-wide into the stretch, split rivals nearing the eight pole and rallied late. FORT LANGLEY was allowed to settle while racing four-wide, came five-wide into the stretch but lacked the needed late response. EMPEROROFTHENORTH was forwardly placed while racing three-wide and weakened slightly during the late stages. HOGMANAY (IRE) saved ground chasing the pace and tired. SUPER CLASSIC was reserved off the early pace while racing three-wide and failed to threaten. ESTEEMED dropped back early and trailed.
